Many are collecting lots of awesome resources and creating terrific virtual learning opportunities during this study-at-home time. It is to the benefit of all that you think systematically about these efforts and use that work to create a strong foundation of blended learning going forward. How can you do this?
Easy-to-use, helpful websites
Rather than distribute single lessons or learning opportunities, create websites to host those learning efforts so that you can easily find and share that good work later on. The efforts that so many are engaged in now, if collected and shared via a good website can be revisited, revised, and utilized now and going forward with much more ease.
Reflection
Places for shared reflection and effort via professional learning documents and websites also will help teams to develop their efforts with care utilizing all the hard work they are engaged in now. Simple share such as best online tools, best lesson ideas, and engaging whole class meeting suggestions should be collected now for future reflection and use. Essentially while we engage in this process, we should be growing our shared repertoire for teaching and learning in a blended online/offline environment.
Cull and curate
This is a good time too to think about the resources that are no longer useful and resources that are terrific. For example, I looked deeply at a resource that I've often used in the past to find out that it's really not that good, while on the other hand, I have found new resources that are terrific. This is a good time to weed your online gardens of resources to keep the best and get rid of the not-so-good resources.
