Trump imagines himself a warrior. With what appears to be a love-hate obsession with military action, Trump's narcissism puts him center stage in his self-serving war against the world. All at once he's the victim, the hero, the warrior, the wounded--his warped imagination fueled by grandiosity and untruths sadly has been a time-suck for all things good. Rather than work with a team of experts to uplift the United States, serve the people, and deal with the grave problems like the pandemic that we face, President Trump has chosen to live-out his demented Trump-against-the-world military fantasy. At best, it is disheartening, and at its worst it is a great danger to the good country we live in. Trump's dangerous illusion has increased bigotry, exasperated a raging, deadly pandemic, caused divide, and led to violence and death of too many.
So, as in any good military fantasy, Trump imagines himself going down fighting--he's too cowardly to join a true military force, so instead he fights with propaganda, lies, and theater. He grandstands with all kinds of crazy stories, few of which include facts or truth. For Trump, it's all about the self-serving show and little else.
Some follow Trump because they've been fooled or because they, like Trump, live with a similar self-serving mindset or because they use Trump's greedy, hateful ways to forward their own greed, hate, violence, anger, and ill-will towards others. These followers are equally misguided, troubled, and in some cases, dangerous and destructive. We've seen the allegiance Trump has fostered amongst hate groups, and we've heard and read the bigoted words members of those groups spread as they spread propaganda, lies, prejudice, hate, and destruction in our good country.
Good change is on the way. Joe Biden won the election. He and his Vice President, Kamala Harris, have already promised to deal with our more serious problems upfront. They'll counter the pandemic with science, they'll work to bridge the divide Trump created, and they'll work with and for the people to better lives. Unlike Trump, who filled government offices with inexperienced, self-serving, dangerous and destructive cronies and family members, Biden has chosen a host of experienced, people-focused public officials--these people will work to make our country strong and positive. This is good!
Today, in Georgia, voters will decide who will represent them in the Senate. If they choose Ossoff and Warnock, the country will profit greatly. A win for Ossoff and Warnock means that the Senate will better be able to forward the good work Biden has planned, work for the people, not against us. This is good.
Trump has displayed his stunted emotional intelligence, the results of his emotionally bereft childhood and a lifetime of cheating time and again, and we can expect that he'll leave the White House making as much noise and struggle as possible--it's likely that he'll continue his military fantasy until he dies whenever that will happen.
In the meantime, we need to respond to Trump and his team's antics via legal channels, and with regard to our good energy, we have to move that in the direction of the good work the Biden team has planned, work that will help to make our country healthy and happy again.
Good riddance Donald Trump!
Welcome President Biden, Kamala Harris, and your team of hard working, dedicated, positive leaders.
