What objects do you really need? I'm thinking about this as I continue to simplify my home.
Clothing
What clothes do you really need? What clothes do you typically wear, and what clothes have been sitting in your drawers or closet for years without wear?
Books
It is difficult to get rid of beloved books, yet unless you have a at-home library, those books take up a lot of room and collect a lot of dust. Some friends have switched to reading online all the time. That's a great option when you consider space and dust. I've yet to adopt online reading for the most part and still prefer a book, but as I downsize in the years ahead, I suspect I'll make the switch.
Office/art supplies
What supplies do you need to complete your paperwork, and what supplies do you need to create art and craft? How do you best organize and store those supplies for easy access?
Sports and athletic gear
What great do you use most often, and what gear is ready to be recycled?
Kitchen/dining room tools
What tools do you use the most often, and what special tools that you may not use all the time do you want to keep. What tools and supplies do you no longer need?
Over the years we collect a lot of unnecessary objects, and we also don't get rid of many objects we no longer need. Im ready for the next stage of the purge--to simplify. Less things, more time.
