Keep missing the COVID vaccine train

A friend called early this morning to report that she got a COVID vaccine appointment on her first day of trying. I was successful like this when getting my parents an appointment, but for myself, I've spent the total of three days or more trying to get an appointment to no avail. It's like missing a train again and again and again--I'm just never at the right place at the right time. T've filled out the information countless times, waited in virtual lines day after day, and even got to the very last step of the sign up before I was bounced out of the queue.

Last night I tried the "after midnight" idea for sign-up, and that didn't work either. So today I'll try again, but due to circumstances, I'm already far behind others who successfully scored an appointment this morning. Like everyone hoping to get the vaccine, I simply want that level of protection and ease knowing that I don't have to worry so much about getting the virus. We'll see if I get one today, but with the number of shots available now, it's unlikely. I'll report back later.

In many ways, getting an appointment is a game of chance right now, but in weeks time, there will be more vaccines and appointments available, so I just have to be patient and maintain the COVID-19 precautions that we know mostly work with regard to staying well. Onward.

Note: Yet again I was online from 7-9:30 with no ability to get a vaccine appointment. Many I know did get appointments today--there were in the right place at the right time, or they knew people with access to vaccines and appointments and were able to cut the line. I'll keep trying.
