Get away from it all

Nothing clears my head more than getting away from the day-to-day routine. I love what new scenery does for my psyche.

There's a pattern to how I approach these beloved getaways.

Planning

The planning is lots of fun and involves choosing a beautiful, natural setting with clean, welcoming accommodations and the opportunity for a fun adventure.

Getting there

The adventure starts the minute I leave my home. During the drive or flight, we typically make a loose-tight agenda for the days away.

Arrival

Upon arrival, we survey the area by driving or walking around, reading local newspapers and other information, and beginning our first adventure.

Food

We generally research the food places ahead of time to find delicious, healthy, affordable options.

Sleep

We schedule in plenty of sleep.

The return home

Typically we return home with lots of good energy and a positive to-do list for the days ahead.

I recommend that everyone get away from it all if only for a night as it clears the brain and focuses your direction in positive ways.
