Nurturing relationships takes time and consideration.
Every relationship is different and every relationship calls for different kinds of nurturing.
This differential is true while there are also some common ways that support every relationship including listening, being curious, respect, and supporting one another's needs and interests.
It is in the area of needs and interests, that each relationship takes on its own path. As you think of the many relationships you enjoy, it is interesting to think about what the high points of those connections are as well as the challenges inherent in those connections.
What are the best times you share with an individual, and what makes those times so good? And, what are the most challenging times with an individual and what makes those times most challenging?
When are you able to help a friend or family member the most, and when are your no help at all or even worse, when are you a hindrance to that individual?
What relationships truly enrich your life, and what relationships weigh your life down with worry, fear, or struggle?
As I think on this topic today, I am wondering if we give enough consideration to how we nurture the relationships we have? This is an area I want to think more about.
