It's great to be able to give--to have what someone needs at the moment they need it. There's nothing like the feeling of helping another person.
It is very frustrating not to be able to give due to time, money, family responsibilities, health and other matters, but that's the way it is--you can't always give, and you don't always have what another person needs.
What's best is to give when you can. Be ready to help another with your gifts of time, talents, dollars and actions, and when you're able thoughtfully and quietly bestow your gift.
Also take the time to recognize and be aware of the multitude of gift givers that surround your life--the people who have been there for you in times of need. Include your children in the action of gift giving, generosity and appreciation.
“For it is in giving that we receive.” ― St. Francis of Assisi
