You're an Adult Now: The Relationship With Your Adult Children

The parent-child relationship changes when your children become adults.

It's often not an easy transition because you both have to make changes.

You have to have that talk (or talks) about new expectations, responsibility, and collaboration.

You have to give your child the space to be himself or herself, and you also have to expect your child to be a good roommate who does his/her part. It's not one side or the other, but instead, working together.

I have been reminded of this recently as yet another son reaches adulthood.

The humbling path of parenting continues.
