A Week of Family Celebration and Preparation

This week marks a number of school preparation activities as well as a couple of family celebrations too. It's the signal that the school year is about to start and summer is at its final chapter.

To prepare for the celebrations is also to ready the house for the celebrations to come--celebrations that mark a significant birthday and a fond farewell to children heading off to college.

As I think of the celebrations and preparation, I recognize it's a time to purge--to rid the house of all unnecessary objects.

It's also a time to pack up all those necessary items for a positive college and school year start.

And it's a time to ready to share a number of good stories with family members and friends at the upcoming events.

Transitions and celebrations like this mark the days past and the days to come--they ready the road for new chapters, and it's essential to give these transitions the thought and time needed to make them meaningful and worthwhile. Onward.
