There are so many ways that we can support the health and well-being of ourselves and our loved ones, and yes, there are many ways that we can work against that too.
I was thinking about this today as I considered times in my life that were healthier versus times in my life that were less healthy. I was thinking about the categories of consideration when we think about healthy living.
Routines
Sometimes in life we run with crowds that don't hold to a healthy routine--these are crowds that may not get enough rest, drink too much, and engage in other unhealthy or risky behaviors. Then there are times in life when we surround ourselves with people make health a priority. Whether be at your work place, in your home, or with friends and family, it's best to stick to healthy routines.
Food
Filling the kitchen cabinets and fridge with healthy choices means you don't have to get take-out at the last minute and you'll always have healthy meals available. Similarly scheduling visits to local farmer's markets, orchards or even better, growing your own food will ensure lots of healthy eating. Also making time to prepare healthy food for you and your loved ones, means healthier living.
Don't Crowd the Schedule
When the schedule is too crowded it's likely that you may not live as healthy a life--everyone needs down time and time to take care of the matters in life that create good living.
Unhealthy Work Places
Sometimes work places cut corners by buying and serving unhealthy, cheap food, creating schedules that don't allow for healthy lunches and needed breaks, and overworking employees. As much as possible, we need to create reasonable, healthy places to work--placed that contribute to the overall health of employees and clients.
Good People
Filling your life with good people, places, and events will likely result in healthier living and greater satisfaction too.
Positivity and Acceptance
People often turn to unhealthy living when they experience a lack of acceptance and positivity at home, in the work place, or in the community. The more that we can accept one another, support each others strengths, and be positive, the healthier people will be.
Healthy Fun and Entertainment
Choosing positive, healthy ways to have fun also supports good living and well-being.
To be healthy doesn't require a lot of fancy gadgets, experiences, or events, but instead it demands good living which, in part, is living that includes the notes above.
