Today I'll attend a special ceremony to celebrate the deep commitment of many people to our United States Marine Corp. I did not grow up in a military family and have long been a pacifist so this event has made me think a lot.
Long ago when my family member decided that this would be his path, I read a lot about it and asked a lot of questions. In the end, I felt that his decision to join the United States Marine Corp was a decision well made, and a decision I honored. I am a big fan of following your passions and being true to your call and spirit, and in this decision, I felt my family member was doing that.
So today with respect and care, I'll attend a ceremony that marks a meaningful accomplishment related to my family member's training and commitment to the United States Military. I will listen carefully to the words relayed and honor the commitment of so many fine people who will hopefully work to protect and care for our country's best interests.
