Thanksgiving 2018

Unlike Thanksgivings for the past many years, I am not hosting this year which means I can relax. Not hosting means I can spend more time making the pies, visiting with family members, and doting on those who will welcome us at their home on Thanksgiving Day.

It's going to be a special Thanksgiving because my immediate family will all be home which doesn't happen that often anymore since people are spread out as they work and study. So it will be good to have some down time to watch movies, play games, tell stories, and share meals.

Thanksgiving will be a smaller than usual crowd which will give us time to catch up with extended family members with care. I am grateful for so much this Thanksgiving including a loving family, wonderful colleagues, hard working students, supportive families, a warm home, and positive communities. It will be a positive kick-off to a good six weeks of special events and celebrations--a holiday season that brings light to the dark late fall and winter days.
