Support Valuable Family Traditions

New traditions sometimes spur angst and worry. Will it go well? you wonder. Is it worth the time? you question. That happened to me recently as family members and I continued a fairly new holiday tradition that included special places and times together. We wanted to start something new that strengthened family and created good memories.

So last weekend we embarked on this family event which included time with one another to share a meal, wander the city, stay at a special place, and be together. The event matched the ages of our children, our desire for adventure, and our budgets too. It was a good time, a tradition that we'll continue.

The holidays are a time for traditions new and old. It's a time to think about what brings us together and how we can celebrate who we are and what we share as family members and friends. It's worth the time too to try new traditions now and then as families and friendships change--some old traditions are terrific and others might be ready for a remake.
