Seize the Moment: Family

As a parent of young adults, it's important to seize the moment when we're able to get together, exchange stories, and support one another. Last night I had the chance to see a son that's been away for a while. It was a great opportunity to hear his stories, learn of his adventures, and listen to his next steps. I'm happy to see his life unfold in ways that both challenge and strengthen him in life. Another son, who I also don't see that often, joined us, and he too relayed many updates about his life and commitments. I truly enjoy getting together with my children, hearing about their life's interests, laughing about old times, and planning good times to come.

The quote from the show, Poldark, sticks in my mind:

"Life holds few things that are genuinely worth having. And if you possess them then nothing else matters. And if you don't possess them then everything else is worthless." -- Ross Poldark, BBC One "Poldark", portrayed by Aidan Turner

This quote sums up my priority with regard to my family which tops my life's value list. And as I always write, I'll continue to do what I can in life to support a strong, loving family life, and to do that I'll continue to work towards a welcoming home, making money to support my children's education and pursuits, and planning celebrations and special events that bring us together.
