Vacation Days

It's vacation. I always feel a bit guilty embarking on vacation because I'm typically busy working on some project or effort. When the children were small, I didn't feel this same level of guilt since I saw vacation as a time to expose my children to wonderful experiences and quality family time. Now, however, when the children are older and a vacation is mostly focused on my husband and me, I do feel a bit of guilt related to time just for us, yet I know what a good vacation can do for your strength, spirit, wellness, and overall zest for life.

What do I hope for during these vacation days?

I hope to be in beautiful places.

I hope to eat wonderfully prepared, healthy foods.

I hope to meet people and spend time sharing stories.

I hope to walk, bike, swim.

I hope to explore cityscapes, country lands, museums, and local community events.

I hope to get lots of great sleep.

I hope to launch my son to his second year of college study in a positive way.

We all need vacations--vacations strengthen who we are and what we can do. Those vacations don't have to be fancy, but it's important that these special times do take you away from your daily routine and responsibilities.
