Thematic Action

Sometimes I like to revisit old posts to see how I am doing with the goals I've set. Today, I'm revisiting this Thematic Action post with some updates.

As I reach for a year dominated by action rather than words, I am focused on a month-by-month thematic approach.

January: Gatherings
We'll gather at family parties, sports events, and special school activities, and with those gatherings there will be opportunities to listen, exchange stories, and support one another with regard to individual and collective goals and focus.

The gatherings were very good--with friends, family members, and colleagues we celebrated the New Year, family triumphs, and the birth of a colleague's beautiful babies.

February: Love
A month of loving events including a bridal shower, 90th birthday, and the loving support of a family athlete at an annual sports tournament.

The bridal shower, 90th birthday, and sports tournament were wonderful celebrations. I'm so happy we were able to celebrate these events prior to the onset of the coronavirus.

March: Deep Work
March will be a time for the final days of deep work to complete a number of work endeavors with success.

The deep work needed to prepare for and present the Climate Change Fair was successful! Also the deep work to prepare for the rest of the school year and this coronavirus cancellations are mostly done. Now I'll turn my attention to the deep work needed to support families/students and work on many at-home projects to continue my theme of a warm and welcoming home.

April: Exploration and Celebration
We'll celebrate birthdays and explore new places in April

It seems like the April explorations will be explorations close to home or virtual explorations via film. Last night I watched a film about the Australian outback, a place I am very intrigued by. I will likely travel via film and to local nature spots. Time will tell. . . . . time will also tell about the months ahead too.

May: Health
While hopefully health will be a focus all year, there will be a big push in May.

June: Happy Endings
June will mark the celebratory and tiring end of the school year--a positive routine will make for a positive and successful ending.

July: Family History
I'm going to focus energy on my family history project during July.

August: Wedding Bells
August will be focused on the wedding of loved ones.

September: School Bells
The focus will be on the start-of-the-year

October: An Irish Christmas
I'll focus on our 2020 Christmas Theme: An Irish Christmas to honor our ancestry and our love of Irish lore.

November: Thanksgiving
We'll prep and plan for a wonderful Thanksgiving

December
Holiday Traditions including sister weekend, the extended family holiday party, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations with an Irish history theme, and New Years Eve.

It's likely that the year will take many unexpected twists and turns that change this original plan, but by laying out the year step-by-step, I make some of the dreams and plans possible. Onward.
