I was very angry, worried, and frustrated this week as I saw the news unfold about bombings in Iran. I was even more angry, worried, and frustrated when Trump and his team could not adequately explain why they assassinated an Iranian general. President Trump's lack of discipline, intelligence, and concern for the American people and people the world over worries me greatly. I do not support leaders who act without discipline, collaboration, good analysis and effort to forward the good possible. I do not support leaders who put their own self interests and economics ahead of what's good for the people the world over.
I know that bad things will happen--that's life, but I know that we don't have to tempt the fates by acting without good analyses, collaboration, and intelligence. Undisciplined, rash, and self-serving actions typically result in problematic results, results that create harmful and hurtful circumstances. We can do better, and we must not be fooled or manipulated by errant leaders.
That's why I'm increasing my advocacy by contributing time to support candidates willing to work for the American people including the best interests of all Americans and our planet rather than the interests of a few wealthy folk to the detriment of our environment, people's needs, and good living.
Trump tricks many with his exaggeration, lies, and macho declarations and actions. He's the big daddy that makes some feel protected--the tough guy who wants Americans to believe he can rid the world of evil. However, the sad truth is that Trump is a draft dodger who has only worked for his own interests, not the interests of others. Even with actions that may profit a few in ways that are visible, Trump, himself, is profiting more.
His phony charity, defunct college, shady bank loans, undisciplined declarations, rash decisions, and seemingly corrupt investment strategies waste time, money, and potential for so many. While he brags about economic gains, he increases the national debt in ways that make our country very weak on the national stage.
If you want change, you can't be complacent--we have to treat the symptoms of corruption, me-first politics, and crime when they first begin. That's when the best opportunity for betterment occurs. If we wait, we'll be playing catch-up and incurring the costs of lives lost, a country weakened, an environment poisoned, and a people excluded. We can do better, and we must all do what we can with words and actions to make promising change for our country. This can't wait.
