Do what you can, when you can

None of us can do it all, but when we do what we can, when we can, we typically find ourselves mostly satisfied that we've done our best.

As I look out into the months ahead and the many arenas of life inviting me to take part, I recognize the importance of knowing where I want to go and why I want to go there. I also know that navigating that course with sensitivity, empathy, and doing my best is the best way to travel.

Who is out there? What do they want? Where do I want to be at this journey's milestones?

Family
Family is scattered in many different places and engaged in many different pursuits. Celebrations, shared quests, and needed supports bring us together.

Friends
Friends are busy too. They are busy mostly with their jobs and families--finding time to get together to share stories or places and events we enjoy is a positive aim.

Teaching
There are many goals here related to math, science, and social-emotional education goals. With my team, we want to build a strong, caring learning community that helps children master the standards in engaging, empowering ways.

Home
As always, my goal is to have a simple, welcoming home.

Presence
While I may not have what some need or want, I do have the ability to be present, welcoming, and open to their needs and interests. In busy times past, this wasn't always true.

Self Care
A current and important theme in today's busy world is self care, the kind of care that optimizes health, energy, and happiness. This is important too.

Contribution
As time, energy, and money permit, I want to contribute to the greater world too in ways that positively impact lives.

So as I navigate the road ahead, these are the markers I want to attend to. Onward.
