What's better: spontaneity or scheduling?
I considered that question this morning as I thought about getting together with friends and family for special times and my answer is that if you really want to do something, it's best to schedule time for that. If you don't make time for those special activities, it is less likely that you'll make the time to engage in those special events.
Yet, too tight schedules will restrict the opportunity that playful, happy spontaneity can bring--the serendipity and surprise of spontaneity brings joy. So loose-tight schedules make time for what you really like to do while leaving time within that schedule for spontaneity.
For example, if you and your family are planning a holiday at the beach, you may schedule a meal together and beach time, but then leave what happens at the beach and in and around that time open for everyone to choose what they want to do.
When considering the question of spontaneity vs scheduling, it is also critical to know what you love to do and want to do. If you make time to consider that, you'll be sure to include those events and activities on your agendas which will make for better
