Everyone has some limitations--limitations related to place, time, connections, money, capacity, energy and more.
Generally I have pushed beyond limitations in life to achieve that which is most important to me. I don't regret that push since I am pleased with many of the achievements I've made. Lately though, I've been giving those limitations greater consideration and actually giving in to some limitations. It has been interesting to see the time and calm I've gained by simply giving in and recognizing that to push beyond some limitations takes a lot of time and energy, time and energy that you then don't have for everyday living.
It has been difficult to say no to activities that I've generally reached out to be apart of since I have always tried to be a responsible person who pushes to be involved in any work that impacts my professional work and family commitments, but with a number of long term goals in mind, I've pulled back from some of the responsibilities that are extra to focus on the most important responsibilities alone. This has bought me good time and focus which is important at this juncture in the road.
Changing one's mindset, focus, and routines is not a simple matter. It is easy to fall back on old habits and ways of doing things, but it's important to change routines now and then to meet your renewed and revised vision for the path ahead.
