Trying to give shape and structure to this COVID-19 event is somewhat like going outside and trying to capture air because like air, the COVID-19 event resists structure, predictability, shape, and planning. This amorphous event is a challenge to those of us who thrive on planning and predictability.
That said, I will continue to try to apply some structure to unexpected and unknown life episode.
How will I do that?
Family
Until last night, our family merrily rolled along with the event, and then last night we experienced discontent. Why? Clearly, this event has created lots of new social dimensions for family members. So today we'll walk and talk about the weeks events and how we might structure our days and spaces with greater harmony and positivity. This will likely be a weekly conversation.
Work
Our team has created a structure for next week. We'll see how that goes and likely update as needed.
Pleasure and Creativity
This has been the high point since I've had the time and health to learn new things. I've leaned in the direction of cooking new foods since my family is so appreciative of that and I enjoy learning how to cook new recipes.
My creativity list is endless including making an app, coding, movie making, lesson planning and more.
Reading, Television, and Movies
I've got a great book waiting for me to read, and and I want to put together a list of films to watch that both my husband and I will enjoy--our tastes differ in this regard so finding movies we both like takes a bit of research, but we'll get there. Television mostly includes daily news shows and online, I enjoy watching the comedians.
The numbers of people with the virus continue to rise in Massachusetts as do the deaths. We have heard of a few friends-of-friends who have the virus, but it has not touched our immediate family at this time. Experts have said that the next two weeks will be bad so we're keeping our distance--two weeks is not a long time when you consider all the possible good years and events to come. We can do this.
