Coronavirus Map from a day or two ago. |
Son Three
During spring break, college courses went online, but students were able to return to college. Then the college shut down altogether, so my son had to drive to his college with his dad, pick up his supplies, and return home. He'll be studying from home.
Son Two
His work place waffled a bit about what to do. First, all those who traveled outside of state, were going to be self-quarantined for 14 days, but later that was dismissed, and the latest rule is that they can't travel more than 50 miles from base.
Son Three
He began this journey by cancelling his trip to see son two. Then his work place told all non essential employees to work from home. His fiance's colleague has been exposed, so both this son and his fiance are wondering if they could have the illness. Luckily they feel well now, and are staying close to home.
Me
Schools in our system began closing due to parents who had been exposed to the virus. Later the whole school system cancelled classes for two weeks. Educators updated online learning menus and worked with one another and administrators to create fair protocols.
Husband
At his work, people can work from home anytime, but just yesterday they heard the decree that all should work from home for the time being.
Almost all events have been cancelled
Beginning early in the week, cancellations began happening. Now, almost everything is cancelled.
Groceries
We live in the center of multiple grocery stores, so while the stores have been busy, we have not experienced long lines and shortages yet.
Extended Family
People are checking in on one another, but mostly staying away from one another. We are following the protocols put forth by the authorities. As one son said, "If all the smartest people are worried about this, we should be too."
Neighbors
It appears that the neighbors are home and following social distancing protocols.
Activity
There's no shortage of things to do from catching up on work, cleaning, chores, and yard work. There's also plenty of entertainment available via television, radio, books, games, and more. We also have many places where we can take a nice walk in the woods.
I am curious to see where this virus takes us in the next few days. I hope that we won't get sick and we'll be able to care for relatives in more vulnerable categories. Time will tell. Onward.
