The seeds we sow matter

As we stay at home, less busy than what we are accustom to, there is lots of time to reflect about life. This morning I found myself thinking about the seeds we sow--every action we do and word we say is a seed that we sow. I thought about the seeds I've sown that have produced good, and seeds that I've sowed and neglected or bad seeds that resulted in not so good. Going forward, I want to be more mindful of the seeds I sow, choosing good seeds and sowing with care.

Word seeds are my first focus--what words produce positivity versus what words produce negativity? How do we converse with others? Do we nag, criticize, judge, and complain or do we listen with care and react thoughtfully and positively to those we communicate with? There will always be a need for tough conversations, but tough conversations do not necessitate tough language--these conversations can focus on compromise, support for one another, a positive future and a good resolve. When we plant too many seeds at once and crowd those seeds, plants don't thrive. The same is true for too many words--it is best to be careful and sparing with the words we use, treating each word as the gem it can be with regard to our human connections and the tasks we do.

Our actions are seeds we sow too. Do we  mindlessly do the same things over and over again, or do we thoughtfully employ actions? Which actions in our lives have resulted in positivity and which actions have not? As I think of my own life, less purposeful and more thoughtless actions have resulted in less positivity while thoughtful, focused actions have generally resulted in positivity.

The words and actions we sow with our relationships matter--are we mindful about those relationships acting and speaking with care or do we take our relationships for granted? As with any good living, to be mindful about our relationships is better--relationships like all areas of life demand review, revision, and reinvestment to stay strong.

In these days ahead, days that provide time for reflection, it is good to think about the seeds you sow now and the seeds you will sow in the future. Strength with this process profits from a good overall vision for your life, that vision anchors your words and actions and leads you ahead in positive ways.

Today I'll think a bit about my overall vision then pay attention to those seeds I sow--this time at home is a good time for reflection, a good time to invest time and thought into the life you hope to lead. Onward.
