Don't Watch the White House Briefings

I have been avoiding the White House Briefings because most speak with manipulation, exaggeration, lies, and self-serving banter rather than the expertise and information we are seeking during this COVID-19 pandemic.

The hollow, uncaring, manipulative words truly trouble me because that speak is an abuse of power--words spoken by those in power to mislead, manipulate, and mock the American people. These are powerful people who are supported by our hard earned tax dollars--people who have taken oaths to protect and serve the people, but instead they spend their time misleading us in dangerous and destructive ways.

Sometimes, there are a few professionals who truly exemplify expertise, care, and good work in their areas of experience, skill, and expertise--these tend to be people who have spent their lives as medical professionals, scientists, or logistics areas. I don't have to watch the White House Briefings to hear those people's good words as I can read what they have to say online and in the newspapers and also watch them on reputable news shows.

Fortunately there are some local leaders and national leaders who are acting with intelligence, commitment and care during this COVID-19 event. Their main objective is to save lives, and they are tirelessly working to do that. These are the leaders I will look to in the days ahead, and I will do what I can to avoid the troubling, manipulative White House Briefings, Trump's stand-in events for the rallies he's missing out on.
