Treat everyone with grace, compassion, and respect.
Say it 100 times.
Yesterday I fell down the Trump hole again as the President distracted us from the coronavirus by suggesting yet another frightening proposition of putting military lives at risk by creating havoc in the Caribbean to supposedly fight illegal drug trafficking. I am suspect of the President's new crisis because it appears to be a distraction from the hard work at hand to provide medical professionals with needed equipment and the need to lead people in ways that save lives. I am also suspect because I wonder if this has more to do with money and oil, and I know that the Trump organization bought lots of Venezuelan Internet names a while back which makes me suspect of their motives in that part of the world. The Trump team are oppressive, untrustworthy, self-serving leaders who put our good lives, livelihoods, and future in jeopardy daily to elevate their wealth, power, and egos. This is disgusting.
Yet, I don't want to be like them.
I want to live and act with grace, compassion, and respect.
This isn't always easy in trying times, but it is necessary because if we can't live and work with one another with grace, compassion, and respect, we cannot hope to grow and live in ways that promote the best of whom we can be and what we can do.
So as I meet with people's varying challenges, choices, and worries at this time, I have to repeat those words:
Grace
Compassion
Respect
And support of course, how can we support one another in ways that matter at this time? Onward.
