Grandma's House

Before I became a mom or teacher, I spent hours dreaming about and preparing for those roles. Now I find myself doing the same with regards to becoming a grandmother. There's no grand baby on the way, yet, similar to the days I dreamt of teaching and parenting, I find myself planning for that future event.

Some may say, What if you don't have any grandchildren? My response is that I will certainly have "grandchildren" of some kind whether those children are the children of my children or little ones I choose to serve in some capacity as I age. There's always room to care for children and there are always children in need of care.

So, how will I prepare to be a grandmother? What will I do?

First, I'll save a few old toys, books, photos, and craft materials to share with grandchildren some day as I clean and organize my home.

Next, I'll do what I can to keep our family culture strong and positive.

And, I'll save and plan for a small, welcoming grandma's house--one that's easy to care for and one that grandchildren will enjoy visiting.

Onward.
