What's your carrot?

Like many, I need a carrot to motivate me to do those jobs I simply don't want to do.

Choosing a carrot or goal that can motivate you to do a host of those jobs works best.

So today, I'm thinking about what we'll draw me forward in the personal sphere

Holidays
As I sort through countless photos, I've decided that one holiday gift I'll give to those I love is picture books--books that include pictures of the good times. That brings purpose to the photo sort.

90th Celebration
My mom's 90th celebration is coming up and I know my mom will enjoy a picture book of the good times too--a book she can look at as she remembers the many good times in her life. We'll likely have some kind of celebration whether it be virtual or in real time that includes treats, good people, and good words.

Summer Outdoor Dining
The idea of a harvest celebration with fresh veggies and pretty flowers motivates the garden work--even if we're still social distancing, it's likely that we can have some kind of a party outdoors.

Hiking and Nature
We've reserved a place in the mountains for a summer get-a-way, that future time will motivate good use of energy now so I can enjoy swimming and hiking later on. It's likely we'll be able to go since it's in an unpopulated area.

The Wedding
There's a wedding to look forward to and whether it happens as planned or later on, there are a number of special preparations I can work on now to support that wonderful celebration.

Less things, More Time
As always, the more we get rid of things, the more time we have. That motivates the sorting and organizing that needs to be done.

What carrots are motivating your good work now? What will you do to get you ready for future celebrations, adventures, and get-togethers? That's where I'm at today.
