The presidential race has been quite a journey so far. At the start, I could see a lot of positivity in many candidates, but ultimately, I supported Elizabeth Warren because of her amazing experience, intelligence, energy, courage, and ability to collaborate with others to serve all people. I knew that she would be an awesome President of the United States. Then when she stepped down, it was between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden. I leaned towards Biden because of his broad appeal though I valued many of Bernie Sanders' policies and ideas. I knew that Sanders or Biden would be much better choices than Trump's heinous team of self-serving, corrupt individuals who put their own wealth and power ahead of most Americans' welfare. Then when Bernie Sanders stepped down, I was left with Joe Biden as the preferred candidate in the race.
Joe Biden brings his experience as a lawyer, senator, and Vice President of the United States which means that Biden brings tremendous experience to the position of President of the United States. He knows what to expect. Also, his experience as Vice President to President Obama gave him experience with an extraordinary President--one who inspired the great majority of Americans in countless ways. Further, Biden is a loving father and grandfather who clearly values family, and he's a man whose lived through the tremendous tragedy of losing his first wife and daughter in a car accident and more recently losing his beloved son to cancer. People who weather tragedy with strength generally become wise and compassionate leaders--they understand the struggle and heart ache others face, and know how to push through it. Joe Biden is also married to an educator, Dr. Jill Biden. Dr. Biden's influence on Joe Biden is clear because whenever he speaks, he speaks with understanding and knowledge about both the potential and challenge children, families, and educators face in today's world. The education system is sure to prosper under his leadership.
So, I will vote for Joe Biden as it stands now. Of course, I realize that the election could take many twists and turns as we're facing an unprecedented worldwide pandemic crisis, yet it appears that Democrats are doing the good work to make this election a reality and Joe Biden the next President of the United States. I will continue to support Biden and also speak out against heinous voter suppression, Trump team corruption, and the Trump team's spread of lies, exaggeration, and bigotry. The United States is a great country with wonderful natural resources and incredible potential. This pandemic has taught us that we can change the way we live to better protect the environment and each other. Hopefully the silver linings that we found during this horrendous pandemic period will right our direction and support better living and positive opportunities or all.
