Family members changed the date of a significant event today, and I was surprised how relieved I was to know that a wise decision had been made. That allows a planner like me to move ahead with new plans for the years ahead.
News reports remind us that COVID-19 is not going anywhere soon. There are many prediction, and in general, scientists feel we'll suffer this wave, have a bit of a reprieve, suffer another wave, and then have a vaccine--this series of events could happen anywhere between one and two years. We're in this for the long run. What does that mean or our health and welfare?
Lean Living
I think it's important to embrace lean living for the most part. We can't predict what the days ahead will bring, and it's important to live lean.
Healthy Living
In addition to COVID-19 illness symptoms that many experience, this event is creating new and different health concerns as well as healthy opportunities. For example, when I'm at school, I'm moving around all the time, but virtual teaching and learning requires a lot more stationary screen time--that's been taxing on hand/arms and also make me have to change my routines to reach for better health.
Professional Learning
This event has required us to gain new teaching/learning skills and knowledge--this is a good focus for the time at home as there are lots and lots of online resources available for this learning.
A New Kind of Entertainment and Recreation
It will be a summer of more walks and talks and outdoor small gatherings of friends and family members. There won't be a lot of travel and we'll mainly stay close to home. Fortunately we have wonderful neighbors.
