Early this morning, our fifth grade team will virtually greet rising fifth graders. This last week of school is an emotional time as we celebrate current fifth graders' graduation and welcome new fifth graders. Move-Up Day is a day of hope and excitement. All students will meet at one short meeting with the three fifth grade teachers and then we'll move to our homeroom meetings. At the whole group meeting we'll discuss the program overall while at homeroom meetings we'll have the chance to hear from each of our new students. I always ask students to share one learning experience in their life that has been positive for them. I tell them that I will consider those stories as I work with colleagues to plan the fifth grade story for the year ahead since we like to include all students' interests and needs in that program. The key is to look good, bring god energy, and spread positivity during this meeting. Onward.
