I've been charting my pandemic response since the start of this event. I find that I have to rethink my decisions now and then to move forward. As I come down from a very busy remote semester of school, I'm regaining good energy and a positive outlook for the weeks ahead. What will I do?
Revise Reservations
Yesterday I cancelled a number of reservations I made months back for travel to see friends and family members. With rising COVID-19 numbers across the country, I will mostly stay at a close proximity to my home this summer.
Household Chores
It's time to get ahead with a large number of household chores. These are not necessarily enjoyable tasks, but tasks that will bring great satisfaction when done. This is the time for that.
Continued Healthy Cooking
We've focused on healthy eating and cooking in the past few months, and we'll continue that. Our little yard garden and local farmer's stands will be mainstays for this healthy eating. We'll also continue to visit the local grocery stores once a week.
Positive, healthy recreation
We'll find time to get out in nature in healthy, positive ways.
Reading, research, writing, and playing games
This is definitely the summer to read, read, and read some more. It's also a great summer to learn, play games, and write. I'll do all of the above.
Like most people, there is a sense of loss that we can't travel, have big parties, go out to eat, and congregate in the ways we're accustom to doing, but it is true that this stay-at-home-time does create a pause and time for reflection. It's a good time to rethink life choices and directions. We might as well take advantage of that.
