A Strong Sense of Team Carries Your Forward

There is power in teaming with others.

In the latter yers of my teaching career, the fact that I worked with an incredible team, empowered what I could do with and for others. This was awesome.

When a team is strong, they look out for one another, work together, and share common values, vision, and aim.

When a team lacks trust, care for one another, and mutual vision, values, and goals, that team lacks capacity.

As I look ahead, I want to first find ways to strengthen the sense of team I enjoy with family members. I want to think about what contributes to a strong family team.

Vision
The family team vision has to take into account the fact that individuals in an extended family group will be called in many, various ways. To be a strong family team means supporting your shared vision as well as individuals' personal visions and missions too. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged and changed everyone's lives and goals in significant ways so it's time to rethink where you are headed and how you can support one another in positive ways.

Goals
It is important to reconsider your personal goals at this time and to reconsider your support for family members' and other loved ones' goals at this time. Then it's time to reset.

Values
People's values have been challenged during this time as well, and it is important reflect on that as you recalibrate and reenforce your values.

As I think about the family team and consider how my many family members' paths have been uprooted and changed, I am thinking about how to best support their new goals and vision in ways that are healthy and positive. I also want to consider the changes in my own path, vision, and goals--changes created by the pandemic threat.

Onward.
