Getting the family together during a pandemic

Getting the family together during a pandemic is not easy.

I've written about the ups and downs of this endeavor recently as our family navigated a few get-togethers already. The early pandemic get-togethers were somewhat stressful as I met with unexpected emotions due to the loss of long-held traditions and the ability to gather with the ease we're used to.

So now we're readying for another family celebration.

The numbers have been greatly reduced due to the pandemic.

Visitors had to find and get COVID-19 tests, and we've all had to discuss our common rules for getting together. Food has to be carefully prepared so that each person has their individual lunch bag, and the celebration will be held outdoors rather than in a restaurant or home.

I want to stay the course with regard to safe get-togethers--it's worth it to ride out this pandemic storm in the days ahead. Onward.
