Island Biking

Choosing the right island for biking can make for a wonderful, healthy adventure.

Yesterday my husband and I ferried out to a small, mostly unpopulated island.

We rode for miles through beautiful shoreline fields with views of the sunlit ocean and far-off hills, harbors, ships and mountains in the background. It was gorgeous!

This isn't the first time that we've identified an island that's perfect for biking. The key is to read ahead to learn about the terrain and biking paths. It's also important to time your trip well to match ferry schedules and times when the island is less populated.

Island biking is often less crowded and more enjoyable than mainland biking. I recommend.
