Living well: what really matters?

After lots of family history research, I've been thinking a lot about what is most important in life. In life, what is most important to me is living a simple, loving, and well-directed life.

Simple
There are few things that really matter a lot in life. When you think about what you've spent money on and what you've acquired, you'll likely notice that there are few things that truly matter, and those few things typically matter a lot--they are valuable to who you are and how you live.

Loving
You'll never regret loving, but you will regret taking an unloving approach.

Well-Directed
You need to direct your life well. That's not always easy, but there are a number of well-directed paths that are difficult to argue with including the following:
  1. A warm and welcoming place to live
  2. Opportunity to engage in wonderful, natural settings and events
  3. Good relationships and loving activit
  4. Meaningful endeavor
  5. Celebration and fun
  6. Responsibility and self-discipline
Going forward, these three attributes of good living will be my mainstay.
