COVID-19 Rules and Living Fall/Winter

Like most people, I'm listening carefully to the information, stories, and decisions of many online and in real time with respect to how to navigate the fall and winter with pandemic limitations and threats. What will I do?

Circle the wagons

Just like they did in days past during westward expansion for safety and camaraderie, I'll circle my wagons of friends and family members by creating and supporting a pod of a small number of people to connect with during these pandemic days. We'll continue our connections with many others by using virtual means mostly. We'll also take advantage of the opportunity to get together outdoors as much as possible.

Tested?

In our city, public health officials are recommending that we get tested often. We'll likely follow that direction if we venture outside of our safe circle. We'll also ask family members to be tested before they come to visit.

Focus on what you can do

There's a lot we can't do during this pandemic, but there's also a lot we can do so we'll focus on those activities and events. We'll be glad that those tasks are done once these restrictions are lifted.

Prevention

We'll do what we can to prevent sickness by wearing masks in public places, washing our hands often, mostly staying close to home, getting flu vaccines, and maintaing health with other preventative measures and appointments.
