This has been six months of expectations unmet--what we expected, didn't happen, couldn't happen. At first, I took this as a creative challenge finding ways to exchange unmet expectations with new pursuits like gardening, cooking, picnics, outdoor adventures, and home tasks. Then it was a matter of replanning life to be safe in the face of a threatening virus, and now, it's time to simply replace those old expectations with a new lifestyle, new routines for life as we know it now. All the while, I want to think about how I can be there for others that I love and know who are facing the same challenge.
What does this new lifestyle look like?
- Mostly cooking and eating at home
- Outdoor gtherings
- Restricted number of people invited into our home
- Finding the best shows online
- Writing better
- House chores, updates
- Healthy activity and recreation
It's more of the same, and now the challenge is to replace the thinking/dreaming with lots and lots of action. Onward.
