Sunday is a good day to reflect on the week ahead--a good day to make time to meet with those you love and live with to determine your week's focus, activities, efforts.
As a young family, we often had family meetings on Sundays--that helped to make sure everyone got some of what they needed in the week ahead. I learned this technique from a colleague, and in hindsight, wish we had started it earlier. One of the best aspects of the meetings was the fact that everyone had the chance to learn about each other's priorities--that fostered the good lesson that what matters is not just what you want, but what serves the whole family best. Those meetings also helped me, as a parent, to key into what was most important for each person in the family, and that helped me to create a good weekly schedule too.
Now, during the pandemic, Sunday's tend to include scheduling a week that is pandemic-safe--a week of good protocols to hinder any viral spread while also supporting needed work and care for ourselves and family members.
I like the fact that my days are beginning to take on a good routine. This is positive, and Sunday reflections are a key element in this new routine. Onward.
