The Fall Picnic: Pandemic Style

Tomorrow I'll host a few family members for a fall picnic. What does that mean?

It means telling everyone to wear some warm clothes and have a few extra sweaters and blankets on hand.

It means setting up a few tables in the yard.

It means making a warm, harvest, farm-to-table dinner that includes roast beef, risotto, baked potatoes, butternut squash, salad, bread, peach and apple turnoves, and ice cream.

It means cutting some flowers from the garden to decorate the table.

It means some good conversation, laughter, and stories.

We'll focus on social distancing to make the event enjoyable and safe. I'll make extra food to send home with guests as well to save them a meal in the week ahead.
