It does take a leap of faith to trust experts. You have to consult your intellectual side recognizing that these experts are experienced, well-educated, and have our best interests in mind.
For example. Dr. Fauci, a physician and immunologist who has devoted his life to caring for others and working against dangerous contagions, warns us that the fall and winter may find us in more dire circumstances related to the pandemic. He tells us not to let our guard down, but to continue to take safety precautions such as wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, getting a flu shot, staying away from big crowds, and getting tested whenever we need to know if we've contracted the virus or not. For some of us who are not surrounded by the virus now and who have not lost loved ones to this virus, we have to trust Dr. Fauci and other experts who warn us of this threat--we have to trust their experience, intelligence, and will to serve people in positive ways.
Unfortunately President Trump, rather than work in tandem with medical and scientific experts, has challenged their good work and warnings. Since the early days of the virus, he has poked fun at the sickness and people who understand the science and take precautions to stay safe. He has led his vulnerable and gullible followers into unsafe arenas without social distancing or masks putting those people at risk and setting a poor example of what to do and how to stay safe from the pandemic threat. He has made up his own bogus, un-scientific solutions and found many incorrect ways to try to talk down the threat. Rather than work for the American people during a devastating pandemic that has robbed us of many lives and livelihoods, the President has been a sided with the pandemic working against safe, healthy living and collective efforts to fight the nemesis that COVID-19 is. Trump is a child like man who acts much like a grade school bully--an individual who acts impulsively to prop up himself without care for others welfare. This is proof of his ignorance, narcissism, and irresponsibility.
The rest of us have to trust the many experts that exist. We have to listen to their words and advice as to how to stay safe from this pandemic's rage. Fortunately these same experts are working with their experience and knowledge to find a vaccine to this virus, and that vaccine will spell relief from this virus if the vaccine follows long-held scientific standards.
President Trump is a fool to think that he can hop into the pandemic arena with no scientific knowledge and know what to do. Specifically, his lack of respect for experience, knowledge, and expertise is one of many reasons why he is a poor leader for our country and the people. We have to turn our attention away from this errant, self-serving President towards the experts, experts who have spent their lives focused on how to support health and wellness throughout the country and world--experts who understand what we need to do to save lives, be healthy, and build a strong, positive country for ALL.
