We all had a choice to choose the Trump path, a path of self gratification, a path to serve self above all else.
Why don't more people choose this path? Why are there relatively few Trumps in the world?
Most people care about others
Most people truly care about one another. They sacrifice time, money, and energy to take care of those they love. Trump mostly took care of himself by devoting his time and energy into his own fame, gain, and self gratification.
Most people have a holistic view of good living
Most people see life with a broad lens that includes many avenues of good living. For most people, life is not gaining wealth and privilege alone, but also includes good times with family members, enjoying nature/travel, playing games, and contributing to causes and events greater than themselves.
Most people are lawful
Most people don't skirt the law or break the law. Most people obey the laws and do their part to be respectful members of society.
Most people are civil
Most people don't strike out at others, use others, abuse others, and do anything they can to prop themselves up without care or concern for others. Most people work with civility, respect, and a focus on ideals and dreams greater than their own wealth and privilege.
Most people are curious about the world around them
Most people live life with a curiosity about others. They truly are interested in the many ways people live and the multiple ways to promote good living in every corner of the world. Most people are not singly focused on wealth and privilege like Trump.
Even though most of us were not given millions of dollars by our parents, we all had the chance to narrowly focus our lives on our own privilege and wealth without care or concern for others or the greater world. We could have done that, but we didn't because we know that a good life is more than fancy clubs, lots of money, and cheating--we know that a good life includes respectful, loving relationships, enjoying the wonderful natural and human-created spaces and events that exist, and working together to make better.
We could be a world of Trumps, and imagine what that cut-throat, hateful, self-serving world would be like. Instead, we need to choose respectful leaders who mentor and lead the best of us, not the worst of us as Trump does. Trump is a step in the wrong direction, take a step in the right direction and vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in November.
