Family time during a pandemic

Family time during a pandemic is precious. With limitations and contagion threat, we are all a bit more careful about how we spend our time and whom we spend our time with. We've tightened our circles so that we have time and space to be with those we love most and those that we connect to in order to support best possible living.

I am thinking about this as nippy, flannel-pajama weather takes root. What will we do in the months ahead.

Travel

We will travel to see some loved ones, but unlike times past, we'll bring most of our food, eat outdoors as much as possible, and mostly spend our time outside too biking, hiking, boating, and eploring.

Holidays

Holidays will be spent with fewer people. We won't host 40+ people for a Thanksgiving dinner as we've done in the past, but have a small group instead. We'll likely spread the celebrations out by spending time with family members on day trips outside or weekend trips that include mostly outdoor adventure.

Virtual Gatherings

We've been convening with family members every other Sunday by ZOOM, and we'll likely continue that throughout the winter. Perhaps we'll even come up with some new ideas to spark the connections and make them celebratory during the holidays.

It will be a fall and winter unlike any we've known before. Hopefully we'll all stay healthy and find ways to enjoy the season. Onward.
