Work that is neither glamorous or popular

Some of us are called to do quiet work, work that is neither glamorous or popular. In fact, many may not understand or notice what we do, but when we listen to the wisdom of greater thinkers now and in the past, we know it is right to follow our call and do the work we are asked to do.

How do you keep the focus when the work you are called to do is unpopular, unseen, and not understood? How do you maintain the momentum, drive, and strength?

Find Like Seekers

Even if your work is not understood, small, and unpopular, there's likely someone out there who shares your passion and drive. Seek those people out--find some support for your aim.

Coach Yourself

Using books, quotes, reflection, meditation, writing, and thought, coach yourself forward in your endeavor. Build your own support for and belief in your work. People who have drives like this have noted long after their jobs are complete that they are glad they trusted in themselves and did what they were called to do. Remind yourself of that often, follow your call.

Prioritize and Create a Good Routine

Prioritize the actions that will lead you towards your call and create the kind of routine that supports those actions. Take the work seriously, make it a priority.

Chart Your Efforts

Keep a chart of the efforts that lead you ahead. Review and reflect upon those efforts and revise as needed.

Study and Research

Research the topic and activity related to your direction. The more you know, the better you will do.
