The last week was an incredible collection of events including Halloween, a time change, snowstorm, Presidential election, lengthy vote counting, and finally the announcement of a winner. It was the culmination of a very long year of election events, a year with lots of worry and fret with an errant President and raging pandemic.
But now, though the problems are not gone, there is a sense of peace because we've elected a President who will restore dignity, respect, and lawfulness to the White House. Our country desperately needs that kind of leadership.
In the days ahead, I hope our new President-elect will make plans to appoint a skilled legal team to investigate the Trump team's wrongdoings. It is important that the Trump team is held accountable for their lawlessness. Had Trump been held accountable in the past, he may not have become the errant, disrespectful, and harmful man that he is today. It's important to investigate, outline, and publish Trump's wrongdoing so the world understands the threat we experienced.
As for President-elect Biden, I think that his priorities including coming up with a plan to mitigate this raging pandemic and to restore unity and respect in our country are great priorities. I also support his desire to promote a fair wage, just working conditions, quality health care and education, and environmental protections. Further, I will be very interested in the efforts, going forward, to boost the health, peace, and strength of communities throughout the United States.
As we learned in this election, it is critical that every American do their part if we want a successful country by the people for the people. This is a good time to think about where you will invest your time and energy as an American in the days ahead. Onward.
As I've noted before, my own plans include shoring up some personal challenges, and then finding the next group that I'll focus on in ways that support the common good. I suspect that work will involve education, children, and the environment in some way.
