Do you have what you need?

"Is there anything you need," I asked my son when I spoke to him recently. That question led him to tell me what he needed at the time. He had taken on a few too many responsibilities, and was trying to figure out how to keep up with all of it. I knew the family because as a college student, especially during November and December, I often felt the same way. I too, at times, took on too much during those busy college years. I suggested to my son, that although trying, perhaps it wasn't the worst situation since the busyness helped to make the pandemic limitations bearable. I offered my support.

When we ask those we love, "Is there anything you need," we open the door to honest conversations and good help and support. Rather than projecting what a person needs, this question allows people to let you know what it is that's important to them.

It's always good to ask yourself that question too as that question helps you to pinpoint your priorities. To ask that question each morning and reflect on the answer provides good direction for the day.

So, what do you need?

How will you get that? What will you do?
