No matter what holidays you celebrate or religious/cultural traditions you follow, light typically plays an important role. That doesn't surprise me since light of all kinds inspire me--I love candlelight, sunshine, the variety of electric lights, and the sparkle of fireworks too. Light and color fill me with hope, inspiration, and happiness.
The many ways people brighten up the community at night and in winter, bring us hope and delight. Many have predicted that this holiday season will be one of the brightest since people want to light up communities as a sign of hope and promise during this pandemic winter--a winter of many limitations and sadness too.
Further as we move from the oppressive Trump years, years when the nation's President wills prejudice, hurt and harm for too many people here and abroad, we are all hungering for the light of a more promising, humane, intelligent, and dedicated leadership team in the White House. Trump team truths are propaganda alone as they abuse our time, money, lives, and livelihoods for their own gain.
Today as I prepare for an intimate, warm, and loving Thanksgiving, I'll focus on ways that I'll light up our house as a sign of our celebration and hope for the good we enjoy and betterment we hope for in the days to come.
