In my opinion, President Trump is acting more like a terrorist than an American leader. I watched him give his supporters, including many hate groups, signs of approvals as he drove by their protests in DC this weekend. Terrorists show support to hate groups, not respectful Presidents of the United States. I've also read his tweets that are filled with nonsense and angry language clearly meant to incite his base to rise up and act. Further his refusal to concede and work with the clear winner of the election, Joe Biden, is stalling a peaceful transfer of power. I truly believe Trump's language, show of support for hate groups, and unwillingness to support a peaceful transfer of power make him a domestic terrorist. For one, I feel terrorized by his behavior because I truly like being an American and believe in all that our United States Constitution stands for--I want to see our country work for all, and the way Trump is acting works against our good country today and into the future.
Some may say that my words are strong, but as I write, I wonder how angry teens that act like Trump are treated in the United States. What do local law officials do when a teen is supporting hate groups, spreading vile words, threats, and lies online, and refusing to go along with expected behavior? Do they add the names of these young people to terrorist lists? Do they assign extra coverage to keep track of what those teens are doing?
Trump is holding the country hostage as he refuses to go along with long held traditions related to a peaceful transfer of power. As I've written about before, he is sucking the air and potential out of the room with his toddler-like tantrum behavior. He is the ultimate sore loser who spews one conspiracy theory after another. He clearly puts his own fragile ego ahead of the welfare of the American people.
So what legal recourse do we have as a country as we face this unprecedented, seemingly mental breakdown, and dangerous mindset and behaviors of a sitting President? What can we do in our country by the people for the people to counter his dangerous and destructive actions?
Joe Biden is doing a good job doing what he can to get started with an awesome list of priorities. That's positive.
I'd like to see Biden appoint an individual or team to act as a watch dog related to Trump's suspicious, dangerous, and destructive behaviors--someone who regularly keeps an eye on things and translates this behavior with regard to our United States laws to the people via multiple media channels similar to the way Biden's pandemic team is beginning to educate Americans about what is happening with the coronavirus. After all, President Trump's terrorist behaviors make him a public health risk too.
Having worked with a trump-like leader before, I can tell you that there is great relief when they are gone. Once the oppression has been removed, capacity for what is right and good grows. That will be positive for everyone.
Looking forward, I also hope that the Biden/Harris team think about communication too. Trump has abused communication channels to spread lies, propaganda, disrespect, and threats. His communication has been aimed at propping up his personal wealth, power, privilege, and pleasure with no real reagard or positive action to support the people. Instead, I'd like the Biden team to take on the challenge of honest, transparent, inclusive communication--the kind of communication that unites our country and fosters a good sense of teamwork and collaboration with regard to uplifting lives everywhere in the USA.
No one wants a terrorist in the White House. It's time for Trump to do the right thing by focusing on his job as President of the United States and working for a peaceful transfer of power. That's what a respectful President of the United States should do.
