Dear Loved One,
Happy Christmas! This year, the gifts I’m giving are mainly theme gifts, and the theme for your gift is the writing life. Pandemic days like no other days are days for dreaming and planning for the future, and you are at the perfect age to dream about your life in the days, months, and years ahead. One truth I’ve learned in my life is that dreams do come true if you understand your dreams well and make dream maps that help you achieve those dreams.
Those dream maps begin with writing and drawing. When I was a little girl, I drew my dreams everyday in many, many notebooks. My pictures usually included families and homes, and I feel fortunate that my dream of having a family and a home has come true. I also drew pictures of wonderful places that I wanted to visit, and luckily I’ve been able to travel to wonderful places now and then during my life too. I have found that if you allow yourself the freedom to dream and the time to detail those dreams via writing and drawing, you’re more apt to achieve those dreams.
I hope this gift of creative materials will help you to draw and write about your dreams. I hope that you’ll make time in the days ahead to dream often and a lot. What constantly amazes me about life is that we’re all born with unique dreams and aspirations, and if we take those dreams and aspirations seriously what we can achieve and the good lives we are able to live are amazing.
