Looking ahead

In about six months, most people who want to be vaccinated against COVID-19 will receive that vaccination--that's good news. What can we do in the meantime to prepare for this back-to-normal time.

Health

Do what you can to stay healthy now. Some sacrifice now will spell good living later. As with all things COVID-19, that health will take some balanced steps ahead. As much as possible, we'll stay away from busy, crowded spaces or people outside of our pod. When that's not possible, we'll where masks and use good hygiene.

We'll continue to keep our pod small, and when we do open our doors to a few family members, we'll keep some distance, increase ventilation, serve food carefully, and resist hugs and kisses.

We will also do what we can to stay active, eat well, and stay healthy in general.

Love

We'll find ways to spread the love via notes, letters, ZOOM meetings, gifts, food preparation, and more. As experts are emphasizing physical distancing doesn't have to mean emotional distancing.

Do what you can

As we've been doing, we'll focus on what we can do including updating, organizing, and cleaning our home, reading/research, learning, and preparing for the good days ahead.

In six months, I want to achieve ____________________________, and I will get there in the following ways: ___________________________

This is a good sentence to fill-in as you think of the six months ahead. It's only six months and it is not worth taking risks that will end your life.

This morning on the news there was a report of a man who had so much to look forward to who lost his life to COVID-19. That man did not practice safe physical distancing over time--he didn't take the virus seriously, and unlike Trump and his cronies, he did not have access to the best possible care and medicines. He died. None of us want to be that person, so we need to do what we can to resist that. Onward.
