Pandemic safety

I've seen many reports about people who know more with COVID now than any time before this. The pandemic continues to rage in the USA thanks to our self-serving, ignorant, hateful Trump team leadership--leadership that focused on self-serving propaganda rather than doing what is right and good for the American people. We have to look the other way, do the right thing, and continue to stay as safe as we can during this pandemic. What can we do?

We have to keep our pods tight. We have to continue to wear masks, keep distance, ventilate our homes, get outside, use good hygiene, and stay abreast of the news no matter how dismal the reports are. For many of us, thanks to the lethargic roll-out of the vaccine--more proof of the Trump team's ignorance and self-serving efforts alone, we have to stay this course until the summer. What will we do?

Walks and talks

I plan to meet up with friends for walks more often. I did this yesterday and I loved it. There are many, many great trails all around me, so I'll start making those walk and talk dates.

Cooking adventures

I'll continue the cooking adventures with a focus on healthy, plant-based meals. There's a lot to explore here including my long awaited in-house hydroponic herb garden.

Reading

When there's purpose, I read more. The first book I'll read will help me prepare a special gift for a person I care for. The next books will help me to hone my skills for my next job--the books related to elements that support positive community development. One more book is a series of vignettes about strength, and I'll cull the qualities and elements that led to strength in each story. I also love to read a good fiction story, but I'm so picky. I've got a pile of good fiction reads which I'll likely enjoy.

Creativity and Family History

My cousin and I are about to embark on a cookbook project. The project melds our combined interest in family history and lore with the many recipes related to family stories. I'll also continue my geneaology research when inspired. I've learned a lot about the history of our area through this project, and there's a lot to do.

Health

As always I'm seeking good coaching and activity related to health. Recently I found a great introductory yoga series on Amazon. The teacher not only leads me in introductory yoga moves, but she also teaches a lot about healthy bodies and healthy living. It's the just-right-pace and focus for me.

Events to look forward to

I have a few events out there in the future that I'm looking forward to. These events will be enjoyed whether we're beyond COVID-19 or not. It's great to have something to look forward to--that helps.

We can be safe during this pandemic--we can weather this storm and we will.
